Lightning rewards speed as much as knowledge. You get 7 seconds for each of 15 questions, and a right answer scores between 500 and 1,000 points. The earlier you tap, the closer to 1,000 you get, falling to 500 right at the buzzer.
A wrong answer scores nothing, so a slow right answer still beats a fast wrong one. The points pile up quickly and the player with the most after 15 questions wins. Lightning runs one on one or with 4, 8, 16 or 24 players. It suits people who like a short game and a quick thumb.
