In 3 Strikes, You're Out! a wrong answer, or no answer at all, is a strike. You play on until one player has three strikes, and the other player wins. Right answers still score 100 points, which matters when both of you reach three strikes on the same question: then the higher score wins, or it is a draw.
The clock begins at 12 seconds and shortens by a fifth of a second with each question, down to a minimum of 6 seconds, and a battle can run up to 60 questions. It is a one on one mode that rewards steady, careful play over speed.
