Dethrone is a catch-up mode, played like Classic with 15 questions and 100 points for a right answer. Whoever leads at the start of a question wears the crown. If the crown holder misses, they lose up to 100 points, and the players who got it right share what was lost. Each dethroner earns a 50 point bonus on top.
The bottom third of the scoreboard gets a boost too: their right answers are worth 1.25 times as much. That keeps the race tight, so a bad start is never the end of the story. The mode plays with 4 players or more, and it is never counted for ratings, which makes it a relaxed pick for a night in.
