In Pick Your Poison, you choose your own difficulty before every question. Easy cuts the choices to just two answers and pays 50 points. Medium is the normal question and pays 100. Hard pays 200, but a wrong answer costs you 100 points. If you do not pick in time, you get Medium.
Over 12 questions, you keep making a small risk decision, and each one reveals a bit about how you play. A confident player can pile up points on Hard. A cautious player can grind out a steady lead on Easy. Mixing them up based on how you feel about the category is usually the winning approach.
